(Wasted) Time is Money

“Monetization” is big these days. The idea of taking your spare whatever – empty web page spaces, e-mail backgrounds, Facebook profiles – and turning them into cash, is irresistible during these turbulent times. Personally, I think we should demand to be paid when we wear a “brand name” T-shirt, jacket, or other item of clothing that sports a corporate logo. Why are we giving these fat cats free advertising, anyway? But let’s leave that aside, for now. I’ve discovered a great way for you to monetize another “dead space,” …

The Lazy (Wo)Man’s Way to Blog

Regardless of what your mother said, we all believe we have to be doing a thing everybody else is doing. Nearly every major (and some not so major) city and town has a museum presenting its history. There are museums dedicated to the country’s historical heroes, like Herzl and Ben Gurion. There’s a museum celebrating Egged buses (Holon) and the Israel Police (Kiryat Ata). There’s a museum dedicated to wheat (Haifa), and even one with a display on the historical development of theatrical lighting (Hod Hasharon).
All worthy of exposition, no doubt; but how …

Job Hunt 2.0

It’s a job to find a job, as so many of us are finding out these days. And while talking a new employer into hiring you is never an easy task, in today’s market it’s become much tougher, to say the least. Usually, we feel a little better when others are sharing our burden, but in the case of unemployment, every new member of “the club” is a potential competitor for your next job. But there’s a bright side to being unemployed this round – or a less dark …
